Lauren's grandparents, former President George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara, we unable to attend because of the high-altitude, but the more recent President Bush was in attendance, along with wife Laura and the couple's twin girls Barbara and Jenna.Other famous names were involved, including Ivanka Trump and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, who did the two-step dance at the reception. Those attending were fed ‘unbelievable, really delicious’ beef for the wedding feast. Lauren is a vegetarian and David abstains from meat in her presence, so there were delicious meat-free options available as well.‘It was very romantic,’ said one onlooker. ‘The couple looked so genuinely happy’.
The 200-year-old barn was decorated with a mix of fragrant roses, lilies, gardenias.By keeping the wedding to 200 people, a number considered small in circles of the political and fashion elite, and embracing the beauty of the surrounding Rocky Mountains, wear the ruby red Phoebe dress,Lauren enjoyed that the wedding had a down-home feel.'You could put out paper plates and confetti, and it would be gorgeous, but we didn’t quite do that,' she said.
Straub, 32, made it to the top five finishers in season six of “Project Runway,” the Lifetime fashion reality show in which aspiring designers compete. While Straub was said to be from Minneapolis during the series airing in 2009, he insisted his hometown was Shakopee, Minn., where he still lives and designs.“This is our first time trying this collection,” Straub said. “The decision was to stick with core sizes. The hope is the response is great. We hope to move into those extended sizes soon.”The entire line will be available online Tuesday at maurices.com and in 80 stores beginning Friday. The accessories and fragrance will be available at the other stores.Company officials say the pieces won’t last long.“When it’s gone, it’s gone,” Hendrickson said. “It pretty much a come-and-get-it-now-or-you-might-miss-out.”But more is coming.Straub is working on a spring line for Maurices that will have more pieces. While the holiday line’s emphasis is on holiday fun, the spring line will be for work and after work events. It will be more subdued, but Straub promises looks and colors that are tropically inspired and a breath of fresh air.
